1. Intermediate SMART Board for Elementary & Secondary Teachers (1 day)
Intermediate SMART Board for Elementary & Secondary Teachers will expand your existing skills with the SMART Board to a new level! Topics covered include integrating student- and teacher-created digital audio, images and video into their lessons. You will also learn to download appropriate (content and creative commons licensed) audio, images and videos from the Internet and integrate these materials into your SMART Notebook software lesson activities. These tools can also be used in “Digital Storytelling” across the curriculum and included in digital portfolios. Examples will focus on the grades and subjects taught by participants.
Prerequisite: Participants need a good working knowledge of SMART Notebook software and at least six months of experience using the SMART Board in the classroom.

2. Differentiated Instruction and the SMART Board (1 day)
Differentiated Instruction and the SMART Board will examine different learning styles and how you can use the SMART Board to meet the needs of your different learners. We will look at adding images, sounds, video, text and multimedia to meet the needs of students and then cover various tips and tricks for effective lesson design. Differentiated instruction that can be incorporated into lesson design with instructional organizers, strategies, skills, tactics and concepts and the SMART Board will be demonstrated.
Prerequisite: Participants need a good working knowledge of SMART Notebook software and one year of experience using the SMART Board in the classroom.

3. SMART Response – Assessment and Evaluation (1 day)
SMART Response, Assessment and Evaluation is a workshop for teachers using SMART Response regularly in the classroom and who wish to better integrate it with their assessment and evaluation practices. Topics include using TAGs for questions and students to data mining, importing Examview HTML files, creating and importing Microsoft Word files and exporting the results to Microsoft Excel or gradebook software.
Pre-requisite: Participants should have 6 months to a year of SMART Response in the classroom.
4. SMART Board and Multimedia (1 day)
Participants will have hands on experience using document cameras, digital cameras and video recorders to create resources to incorporate into SMART Notebook files. Digital Audio will be used to add student and teacher voices to their SMART Notebook files and stories. A variety of WEB 2.0 sites will be reviewed that can be used to create multimedia products ideal for integration within SMART Notebook. Topics will include video, slide shows, photo editing, screen casts and much more.
Pre-requisite: participants should be familiar with SMART Notebook version 10 and have at least one year of experience using the SMART Board in the classroom.
